Excavator Operators – Melbourne

EWS Recruitment currently has multiple opportunities available for experienced Excavator Operators to join our growing team on a range of bulk earthworks and civil projects across Australia. Work is based in the North, East, and Western Suburbs of Melbourne, with occasional requirements for regional Victoria.

Active Sites – North West & Eastern Suburbs

Role and Responsibilities

– Operate excavators safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail
– Perform bulk earthworks, final trim, Trench work and bulk loading tasks
– Conduct pre-start checks and maintain machinery in good working order
– Work collaboratively with site supervisors and team members
– Follow site safety procedures and company policies at all times
– Communicate effectively to ensure smooth site operations

Skills and Requirements

– Minimum 3 years’ experience operating excavators – 5T up to 50T
– Experience in bulk earthworks, final trim, and bulk loading (preferred)
– Able to work in tight spaces and busy sites
– GPS machine control experience is advantageous but not essential
– Valid Excavator Operator ticket and White Card (essential)
– Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
– Full Australian working rights
– Very Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills
– VESI trained operators very advantageous
– Additional tickets such as Skid Steer, Roller, Watercart, or Front-End Loader are highly advantageous
